Federal Executive Board presents annual awards

The Greater St. Louis Federal Executive Board presented the "America at Its Best" Awards, Excellence in Government 2007, on May 8 at the Orlando Gardens in St. Louis.

The awards recognize local federal government employees and area servicemembers for exceptional performance in the workplace and outstanding contributions to the local community.

Awards are presented in ten categories, six of which are based upon occupation. The remaining four categories are leadership, supervision, community service and diversity initiative.

Joint Total Force Scott received several awards for their work in 2007. They included:

375th Airlift Wing Leadership, Community Service Award 

Defense Information Technology Contracting Office Close-Out Team, Administrative Team Excellence Award 

375th Medical Group, Family Medicine Clinic, Team Excellence Award 

375th Military Equal Opportunity Office, Diversity Award 

Generoso Marquez (Air Mobility Command), Individual Community Service Award 

John Tetzner (United States Transportation Command), Individual Leadership Award 

James Beutel (Air Force Communications Agency), Individual Supervision Award 

Joan Luna (Defense Information Systems Agency-CONUS), Individual Community Service Award 

Janice Day (Defense Information Technology Contracting Office), Individual Supervision Award

Federal Executive Boards were established in 1961 by a Presidential Directive to improve coordination among federal activities and programs outside of Washington D.C. The Greater St. Louis Federal Executive Board is one of the original ten executives boards established.

Representing more than 80 federal agencies in the St. Louis metro area, the Greater St. Louis Federal Executive Board promotes public service, engages in local civic activities, raises money for charitable causes and participates in local disaster response training.
