Car wash for a cause Published June 18, 2008 By Airman Amber Kelly-Woodward 375th Airlift Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, ILL. -- The First Four Airmen Council held a car wash fundraiser Saturday at the Base Theatre from noon to 3 p.m. "The goal for the car wash was to raise money for the family in Belleville who lost everything they had in an explosion a couple of months ago," said Senior Airman Nicole Washington, First Four president. First Four is an Airmen council on base for all Airmen, E-1 through E-4. Some of the First Four goals are to encourage base and community involvement, enhance professional development and build camaraderie Airmen. "We wanted to donate it to this family because one of our objectives is community involvement and we felt like this was a great way to get involved by helping a family from one of our surrounding communities get their life back together," said Airman Washington. The next event First Four plans to participate in will be Relay for Life Friday at O'Fallon Township High School. The next First Four meeting for Airmen E-4 and below will be held July 9 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Education Center, Room 94.
