AMC Security Awareness Day

With increasing worldwide threats and attacks, everybody needs to worry about security. Air Mobility Command is emphasizing this by designating July 22 as AMC Safety Awareness Day.

There is not a day that goes by that the adversary is not probing our weaknesses and one of the ways these threats can be addressed is to raise and sustain awareness and educate our force on the threat environment. Wing information assurance offices will conduct local AMC information and operations security awareness activities at their bases July 22. These activities will provide information that will better arm each AMC member to defend AMC's information against espionage and inform our personnel on good INFOSEC and OPSEC practices.

At Scott, Colonel Brad Ashley, Headquarters AMC Director of Communications and Chief Information Officer, is hosting Ray "D.I.C.E. Man" Semko who will brief Scott personnel on INFOSEC, OPSEC and personnel security, as well as possible threats from espionage and terrorism. Mr. Semko's presentation will be at the base theater from 9 to 11 a.m. July 22.

Mr. Semko served 21 years with the U.S. Army and started doing security awareness briefings as a counterintelligence agent in the Defense Intelligence Agency as a way to inform employees of the threats to our nation's security as the result of espionage. His Defense Information to Counter Espionage briefings became very popular and soon were in high demand at other agencies.

"Ray is a security expert well known for his popular D.I.C.E. Program," said Col. Ashley. "Ray uses D.I.C.E. as a memory aid to recall the important message he conveys about security. He is a very dynamic and entertaining speaker and he professionally delivers a very important message for us all."

It is important to maintain awareness of how you can help keep Air Force information safe.

All base personnel are invited to attend. Seating is limited.
