Soon to be proudly brewing Starbucks Published July 10, 2008 By Airman Amber Kelly-Woodward 375th Airlift Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The 375th Services Squadron will start brewing Starbucks coffee and products beginning in early August. The idea for a Starbucks came from Scott member's input. "Starbucks is a popular name brand and it will be a perfect fit for the troops and community," said Kevin Kaysing, 375th SVS business operations flight chief. The Starbucks will feature the entire Starbucks drink menu, as well as dessert products from the Cheesecake Factory. Hours of operation will be from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside of Pronto's Pizza. An estimated $134,000 is going to be used to build the Starbucks site. There is no other location where thousands of people could access Starbucks within a five to 10 minute walking radius from Scott, said Mr. Kaysing. Profits generated from Starbucks will be given to the 375th SVS to use on programs, equipment and facilities at Scott. Construction will begin July 21. This will cause Pronto's Pizza to be closed for about three weeks due to the construction.
