SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Firefighters from the 375th Civil Engineer Squadron fire emergency services flight conducted a building familiarization exercise last week at the 375th Airlift Wing fuels storage facility. As part of the exercise, firefighters are briefed on shutdown procedures and how to go about fighting a fire at that location. Due to the size of the facility and the highly flammable materials, the use of the aircraft crash trucks was deemed necessary. The firefighters also took the opportunity to test the reach of their equipment and how close or far away they needed to be to conduct safe operations. The fire emergency services flight conducts similar building familiarization drills at buildings all over Scott on a monthly basis. photo/Monte Miller
