Patriot’s Landing gate to close Published Sept. 17, 2008 By 375th Security Forces Squadron SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The Patriot's Landing gate will be close permanently beginning Oct. 11. The gate closure is in effort to increase the security and safety of the residents living in Patriot's Landing and effectively bring the housing area back into Scott Air Force Base. Residents will be able to enter and exit Patriot's Landing housing area through the Ward Street Gate, which will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Personnel will not need to show an ID at the Ward Street gate to enter onto Scott during normal force protection conditions, but will need to present I.D.s while entering the base through Shiloh or Belleville gates. Guests without proper base entry credentials must have an authorized sponsor and must get a pass at the Visitor Control Center, which is open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays. For convenience, DoD card-holders may sponsor a visitor online at https://private.amc.af.mil/sfacs/requestpass.aspx. Once the Patriot's Landing gate closes, the Scott School vehicle gate will be open and controlled by Security Forces, Mondays-Fridays and closed on weekends. The vehicle gate will be open during the following times for student drop-off and pick-up: 6:30-9 a.m.; 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; and 2:30-5 p.m. The Scott School gate will remain closed at all other times, though the pedestrian gate to the school will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays-Fridays. Parents leaving Patriot's Landing and entering school property to drop off their children will be allowed access back into the housing area. Entry into Patriot's Landing through the school access road off of Section Line Road is not authorized.
