Anything official that involves the movement of personnel or cargo at Scott goes through the 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron.

In September 2008, the LRS reorganized to make those movements easier.

In the past, the 375 LRS was divided into seven flights: Fuels, Management and Systems, Munitions, Readiness, Traffic Management, Vehicle Management and Vehicle Operations. Now the LRS will become more processed aligned with five flights: Deployment and Distribution, Fuels, Materiel Management, Munitions and Vehicle Management.

"It is a good thing to put like processes together," said Maj. Timothy Gillaspie, 375th LRS commander. "It more effective, efficient and better meets the needs of the mission. I'm excited, it's a great step toward being more flexible."

The travel management, vehicle operator and supply Air Force specialty codes will all be merged into the distribution career field and will all become part of the Deployment and Distribution flight. The Munitions, Vehicle Management and Fuels flights will continue to operate the same.

"The one flight will be more in line with how other industries do business," said. Major Gillaspie.

"The process alignment is a way to effectively and efficiently use manning," said Steven Sanders, 375th LRS logistics manager. "It will align Air Force functions and better distribute the workload."

375 LRS personnel will go through training and will be involved in the changing process. Most of the changes are internal and will not affect the 375th LRS customers.

"The only change our customers will see is the change in office symbols," said Major Gillaspie.
