Are You Prepared for a Safe Holiday Season?

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. --  The holiday season is rapidly approaching and with proper planning, everybody can all enjoy the spirit of the holidays safely. This is a time for getting to together with family and friends to enjoy the festivities that come with the season. To ensure the holiday season is a safe one, the 375th Airlift Wing Safety Office is happy to announce the kick-off of the "40 Festive Days and Nights" campaign. 

The campaign begins Tuesday and continues through Jan. 2. It will promote holiday safety and the "Wingman" culture of JTF Scott. The campaign goals are: zero DUIs, zero reportable mishaps and zero fatalities. 

The "40 Festive Days and Nights" will focus on holiday planning. It will encourage responsible alcohol consumption as well as discourage drinking and driving. The campaign will focus on safe planning for winter weather, home, travel, entertaining and holiday shopping. The holidays can be a lonely or stressful time for many; the importance of having a Wingman cannot be emphasized enough. The use of the Wingman program and personal risk management will be stressed as important components of holiday planning.
