Scott AFB breaks ground for new Child Development Center Published April 16, 2009 By 375th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Office 375th AW SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- A groundbreaking ceremony was held today for a new 23,000 square-foot Child Development Center that will replace the original CDC which was built in 1968. The new center will house 224 children ranging in ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. It will include 16 childcare rooms, a staff and parent resource room, a kitchen, a laundry room and four outside play areas. Funding for the $7.2 million facility is sourced through DoD military construction channels. "This new center will not only help us meet the needs of our Team Scott community but also provide a state of the art facility for our children," said Col. Gary Goldstone, 375th Airlift Wing commander. "This quality of life facility and program will enhance our ability to enable combat power by providing our Scott members the best they deserve."
