Before Civil Engineer NCOs deploy, they must first complete a Pavement Maintenance Inspection Repair course, and to do that they called upon Airmen from the 366th Training Squadron at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., to assist.

"This training is mostly focused on 7-level training, since there is no 7-level school for our job," said Tech. Sgt. Kerry Parsons, 366th TRS instructor. "We travel all around the world teaching the proper techniques so that those techniques can be passed to younger Airmen."

Sergeant Parsons helped to teach a two-week course to 11 members of the 375th Civil Engineer Squadron. The first week consisted of lectures, progress checks, and an exam. During the second week, students removed a section of pavement from the flightline and poured new concrete in its place, putting their learned skills to use. The training aids Airmen in their deployed jobs, since flightline maintenance is a primary duty while deployed.

Tech. Sgt. Jason Foster, 375th CES NCO who coordinated the training, said, "This course was a refresher for me, it helped me remember steps that I had forgotten and honed my skills as an operator. I enjoyed the instructors from Fort Leonard Wood because they are the experts. What is better than hearing information straight from the horse's mouth."
