Scott strives to eliminate DUIs and underage drinking Published June 3, 2009 By 375th Airlift Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Irresponsible alcohol use is not consistent with military core values. To show respect to themselves and their organization, professional Airmen should: -Ensure that no one under 21 years of age consumes alcohol; - Limit alcohol intake to one drink per hour and three drinks per night; -Not leave their Wingmen behind while out or at a party; -Ensure that their Wingmen get home safe if they have had too much to drink. Before drinking alcohol, a plan should be developed to get home. This plan should consist of a designated driver who remains sober. If the plan fails, Airmen should call their supervisors or other Wingmen. Airmen can also call Air Force Against Drunk Driving at 256-HOME. The legal blood alcohol content for a DUI in Illinois is .08. A DUI can still be issued if a person fails to provide a breath sample and their ability to drive is impaired. Servicemembers can also be punished under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. All Team Scott members should work to reduce alcohol abuse and alcohol-related incidents. Scott's goal is to have zero DUIs or underage drinking incidents.
