Annual Fall Festival Saturday Published Oct. 15, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Amber Kelly-Herard 375th Air Mobility Wing Public affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Just before the weather cools and the trees lose all their leaves, Outdoor Recreation will host its annual Fall Festival Saturday at Scott Lake from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event will feature food, prizes and giveaways. "The Fall Festival is a fun family event that will have something for everyone ages 8-80," said Renee Brantly, Outdoor Recreation assistant program director. "From rock climbing to face painting to the lizards, there will be something for retirees, couples, singles, kids and family members to enjoy in the outdoor atmosphere." The rock climbing wall, live characters, giant bouncy castles, pumpkin painting, face painting, paintball, hayrides, kettle corn, the Tye-Dyed Iguana Show, demonstrations, live music and more will also be at the event. A costume contest and parade will also be held for everyone and the categories are: scariest, funniest, characters, most patriotic and team. The festival will also feature a country pie bake-off with cash prizes and a craft bazaar. The cost to sell crafts is $40 which includes a 6-foot table and two chairs. Setup is on a first come basis.
