Security forces members earn Order of the Bayonet Published Jan. 28, 2010 By 375th Security Forces Squadron SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The men and women of the Air Mobility Command Security Forces presented Col. Vince Saroni, Maj. Efrem Rivers, Wayne Reber and Jeff White, the prestigious Air Mobility Command Security Forces' Order of the Bayonet award Jan. 19. The Order of the Bayonet was established in 1981 to recognize the accomplishments of those who have made significant contributions to the security and ground defense of air bases, regardless of their position or rank. It is the highest honor security forces men and women can bestow upon a person. During the ceremony, the four recipients were recognized for their unprecedented contributions to enhance the safety, security and quality of life for all personnel assigned to the AMC. The award recipients were also credited with introducing final denial barriers and other physical security features that provide security forces with an unequaled level of continuous protection for installation assets and personnel. Their ideas for base entry points now serve as the foundation for implementation across the Department of Defense.
