Shiloh Readiness Center opening soon Published March 10, 2010 By Steve Berry 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The Illinois National Guard's Shiloh Readiness Center is complete and scheduled to be operational within the next 30 days according to Illinois National Guard public affairs specialist, Mike Chrisman. The center, just outside of Scott Air Force Base's main gate, will be home to the Illinois National Guard's 445th Chemical Company. The organization provides nuclear, biological and chemical detection and decontamination. Their new $8.5 million, 35,000 square-foot facility has areas for training, meetings, storing equipment and a gym. The facility was funded by the federal government. "The building is actually complete at this point. Right now they are just trying to get all the wiring done, computers installed and phone lines installed," Mr. Chrisman said. The 445th Chemical Company is currently located at the National Guard's East St. Louis facility in addition to the 1344th Transportation Company. Mr. Chrisman said the 1344th Transportation Co. will remain at the East St. Louis facility. An open house is for the Shiloh Readiness Center is being scheduled for early May.
