Scott AFB begins transition to air conditioning

As the weather gets warmer, the 375th Civil Engineer Squadron will begin transitioning facilities from heating to cooling starting April 15 through May 15.

Priority facilities, including medical, headquarters, mission critical, day care, and billeting will transition first.

The 375th Mission Support Group asks for patience as the majority of heating and cooling systems are not designed to operate in both modes simultaneously, and may take time to be switched over. During this transition period, facilities may experience a number of days without cooling or heating capability as the 375th CES personnel prepare equipment and ensure proper operation of air conditioning systems for the summer season.

Facilities not properly prepared for the upcoming season have a higher probability of failure, potentially resulting in damaged equipment. The 375th CES will continue to closely coordinate the transition of building systems with facility managers to ensure personnel are aware of the change. For most personnel, the transition will be transparent.

For more information, contact the appropriate facility manager or 375th CES customer service at 256-2202.
