Exercise conducted on base Published April 22, 2010 By 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs 375th AMW SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Just weeks after receiving an Excellent on the Operational Readiness Inspection, the 375th Air Mobility Wing did not waste any time before conducting another exercise. If anyone wondered why the base was in Exercise Force Protection Condition Delta Thursday evening, the exercise was the reason. The exercise involved an alarm going off after 4 p.m. indicating that there were simulated radiological hazards in the area. This was followed by a suspect being interrogated alerting authorities that there was going to be another attack. Then there was a simulated explosion near Bldg. P-5. The 375th Security Forces Squadron, 375th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department and Emergency Management, and 375th Medical Group Bioenvironmental Flight all quickly responded. Base Intelligence and Air Force Office of Special Investigations also responded. Emergency responders then had to try to remove victims who were in the surrounding area in their shelters in place. Before evacuating victims, they had to be decontaminated. Representatives from all wing agencies were in the Emergency Operations Center providing assets and guidance to wing leadership in their respective areas of responsibility. This allowed wing personnel to practice and evaluate their processes in case a real-world situation were to arise.
