Rick Griebel, of 375th MSG, named Air Force Transportation Civilian Technician of the Year Published April 28, 2010 By 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs 375th AMW SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Selected as the Air Force Transportation Civilian Technician of the Year, Rick Griebel distinguished himself by providing outstanding support to Team Scott's 66 tenant units, four wings, and the 174 geographically separated units and 39,000 personnel that Team Scott is tasked to support. Mr. Griebel also piloted inspection preparation for 21 personnel directly leading the wing to an "Excellent" rating on the 2009 Air Mobility Command Logistics Standardization and Evaluation Program. Additionally, Mr. Griebel was named 375th Mission Support Group's Civilian of the Quarter; was handpicked to assist in the rewrite of Air Force Instruction 24-203, streamlining cargo processing Air Force-wide; and assisted Air Force Materiel Command with a Power Track/Cargo Movement Operational System training program that was later benchmarked by Air Staff. He led various efforts to improve the tracking and movement of cargo using AFSO 21 processes to streamline processes ultimately saving the Air Force a total $160,000 and nearly 200 man hours. His dedication to mission led directly to the safe and timely delivery of 376 hazardous shipments to sustain 67 worldwide locations; 136,000 pounds of medical equipment providing battlefield doctor's with essential, lifesaving tools; as well as a $1.5 million MRI to Argentina as a part of the Air Force's humanitarian efforts.
