Hawaiian Luau pool party is Hearts Apart event for June

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. --  Outdoor Recreation and the Airman and Family Readiness Center teamed up Friday to host a Hawaiian Luau.

The luau was this month's Hearts Apart event.

Tech. Sgt. Kimberly Freeman, 375th Force Support Squadron Readiness NCO, said the A&FRC's Heart Apart program provides military families with fun activities and support while a loved one is away.

Though the Hearts Apart program specifically focuses on military families whose servicemember is away, the A&FRC serves all Team Scott military families to ensure that they have activities and resources available to them.

"We're here for all Team Scott families, especially those with deployed family members," Sergeant Freeman said. "We cater to everyone's needs, whether it's watching the kids to give a parent a break or helping create care packages to send to the deployed parent."
