375th AMW Airman dies in vehicle crash, 3 injured Published June 24, 2010 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- One 375th Air Mobility Wing Airman was killed and three were injured after a high speed, single-vehicle crash June 23 at approximately 7:45 p.m. in Fairview Heights. All four were transported to Memorial Hospital where Airman 1st Class Jamarrio Beathea, 21, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at approximately 8:35 p.m. He was assigned to the 375th Communications Squadron. The remaining three, also members of the 375th CS and 375th Civil Engineer Squadron, were treated and released to the care of their immediate supervisors. According to the Illinois State Police report, the vehicle was traveling westbound on I-64 approaching the exit for IL-159. Due to the speed, the vehicle ran off of the roadway, traveled down the embankment, flipped over several times and ended up overturned on the adjacent I-64 westbound entrance ramp from IL-159 northbound. The incident is currently under investigation by the Illinois State Police. No charges against the driver have been filed at this time. A memorial service for Airman Beathea is scheduled for July 8 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel 1 sanctuary at Scott Air Force Base. Uniform for military is service dress.
