375th CES prepares for winter

With the cooler weather upon us, the 375th Civil Engineer Squadron will transition facility systems from cooling to heating between Oct. 15 and Nov. 15.

Facilities will transition in order of priority with special consideration given toward the mission and population served.

375th CES requests the patience of building occupants as the majority of heating and cooling systems at Scott cannot operate in both modes simultaneously. During this transition period, facilities may experience a number of days without cooling or heating capability depending on the type of system supporting it while CES personnel prepare equipment and ensure proper operation of heating systems for the winter season.

Adequate overhaul and maintenance to prepare heating systems for heating is difficult to perform unless both systems are shut down for a short period.

Facilities not properly prepared for the upcoming season have a higher probability of failure, potentially resulting in a dissatisfied customer or damaged equipment.

375th CES will continue to closely coordinate the transition of building systems with the facility managers who are responsible for ensuring building personnel are aware of the
change. For most personnel, the transition will be transparent.

Priority facilities include, but are not limited to, medical, headquarters, child development centers, billeting, dorms, service and other emergency and mission critical facilities.

Facilities receiving priority consideration include: P-3, P-4, P-5, P-40, 61, 150, 352, 382, 386, 433, 450, 460, 470, 505, 700, 755, 861, 864, 870, 878, 1400, 1509, 1509, 1510, 1511, 1512, 1513, 1515, 1529, 1530, 1535, 1560, 1575, 1600, 1620, 1650, 1670, 1700, 1805, 1807, 1900, 1906, 1930, 1934, 1940, 1948, 1961, 1981, 1987, 3189, 3600, 3900, 3901, 4560, 4780 and 5710.
