Scott PRIDE program aims to keep base looking great Published Oct. 14, 2010 By Bekah Clark 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Il. -- While the Scott grounds always look outstanding, "sometimes we all need to pitch in and spend a little extra time looking around our respective facilities to find things that already look good and make them look great," said Col. Michael Hornitschek, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander. For that reason, Scott PRIDE is an environmental program led by 375th Air Mobility Wing that provides standards and guidelines for commanders, supervisors, and Team Scott servicemembers to achieve excellence in base appearance year-round. While Scott AFB outsources a significant portion of the efforts associated with base appearance, some services are still accomplished by Scott personnel such as picking up any litter, pulling weeds, maintaing facility flower beds, and taking recyclable items to the recycling center. These actions are to be taken each day in the work environment, however special emphasis is placed on Scott PRIDE immediately after inclement weather or high traffic times for the base. Materials such as mulch, river rock, trash bags, paint, etc., are available at the Base Self Help office, Bldg. 57, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. to help units with their beautification efforts.
