Make CFC pledge online Published Nov. 10, 2010 By Bekah Clark 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Online pledge capability is now available and preferred for the Gateway Combined Federal Campaign. By visiting the website https://www.cfcnexus.org/_gatewaycfc, Team Scott members can research participating charities and donate through a secure, password protected system. This system also maintains a history of your pledges without retaining your social security number. After creating your pledge online, donors must print the pledge. If signing up for a payroll deduction, print and sign two copies of the pledge. If making a one-time donation, print only one copy of the pledge. Printed copies of pledges must be given to your CFC representative. "The CFC is one opportunity for federal employees to be solicited for donations to charities and select which charities to donate to," said Capt. Jennifer Baker, Vanguard Division's vice-chair. The Vanguard Division is a part of the Gateway CFC region and is comprised of all federal employees at Scott Air Force Base. This division comprises approximately one-quarter of the federal employee population of Gateway's 97-county region. In 2009, employees in the Gateway region raised more than $3 million. Of that total, nearly $900,000 came from the Vanguard Division. There are more than 2,800 charities to choose from through the Gateway CFC and each charity goes through an evaluation process to make sure it is a reputable organization before federal employees are able to donate to them. The CFC will run through Nov. 15.
