AbilityOne BSS to replace Office Depot Published Dec. 8, 2010 By 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Beginning in January 2011, Office Depot will no longer provide Base Supply Store services as a result of an Air Mobility Command directed contracting to civilian conversion. Replacing the service will be AbilityOne BSS through which Scott AFB customers will still receive the same service but under a new look, name and operator. AbilityOne BSS is an AbilityOne agency and a member of the National Industries for the Blind and Associated Industries for the Blind. The store will provide a full line of office supplies, copy paper and other paper products, janitorial and cleaning items, computer accessories and many more items to meet Scott AFB's supply customer requirements. Also, the store will continue to stock a full line of Individual Equipment Element items to meet uniformed military customers' needs. The store will carry a full line of AbilityOne and other commercial brand name products in stock for same-day availability and offer a large catalog selection of products available with one to two day delivery or a special order program to source other customer requirements. Customers will be able to visit the store, shop online, call in, fax or e-mail orders. Store personnel will be available to provide customers with shopping and ordering assistance including special or hard-to-find items. The store can fulfill small quantity, carton or bulk orders. Government Purchase Card or other authorized means of transactions will be accepted with free delivery on base. If needed, an easy return policy is available. AbilityOne BSS will assume operations on Jan. 1 and will offer online ordering starting Jan. 3. Between Jan. 4-17 the AbilityOne BSS will be stocking and preparing the store. Customers are welcome to come in during this period, however, supply will be limited. The online store will continue to offer a full line of items during this time, and the store will be stocked and fully operational by Jan. 18.
