As the Wingman Council continues to grow and build better Wingmen the functions it serves continue to expand.

The Wingman Council's newest project is a recognition program.
"The program is not meant to be another Air Force 1206 Form that requires bullets," said Tech. Sgt. Julia Madison, Wingman Council recognition program point of contact. "The program is to recognize Airmen who are good Wingmen."

When nominating a Wingman, the nominator should include a storyline explaining how the nominee was a Wingman. For example, someone who helped a co-worker move to new house. The program is open to everyone who works on base.

Wingmen can be nominated for the recognition program by visiting the Wingman Council EIM site or by sending an e-mail to scottwingmancouncil@scott.af.mil.

The council plans to present the awards during the recipient's specific commander's call.

The council is also working on a project for Wingman Day, which is scheduled for Feb. 18.

"The Wingman Council is working to make the event an outstanding experience for all participants," said 2d Lt. Joseph Henney, Wingman Council leader.

The council's main contribution toward Wingman Day will be a wingman video, which will highlight the importance of being a wingman when it comes to physical and mental issues, two parts to the Comprehensive Airman Fitness principle.

The Wingman Council also just wrapped up its holiday season support efforts.
The council supported Team Scott at 18 different holiday activities with 56 volunteers, providing photography, games and baby-sitting for free.
