Scott AFB Health and Wellness Center hosts March Madness Published Feb. 23, 2011 By Health and Wellness Center SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- March is National Nutrition Month. In support of Comprehensive Airman Fitness the Health and Wellness Center, or HAWC, will be hosting a March Madness competition. March Madness is a four-week healthy eating incentive program with a basketball theme, mixing the love of sport and food into an exciting, motivational competition. Individuals will shoot for 100 points a week through choosing foods and practicing nutrition skills that contribute towards good health. For making simple choices, you can score one, two, and three point baskets. March Madness starts March 3, and the HAWC will have sign-up booths around Scott the week prior to the event. To assist with registration call the HAWC. During the competition the HAWC will hold a food demonstration on March 17 to demonstrate how easy it is to get a healthy lunch in your work day. Individuals will turn in their score sheets on April 1, when the HAWC wraps up the competition with a game of "Knock out" at the James Gym. Everyone who completes the competition will receive a March Madness Cookbook. So join us for a little fun this March, in developing new habits for a healthier you.
