375th AMW commander to host townhalls to address potential civilian furlough Published April 8, 2011 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Col. Michael Hornitschek, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander, will host two townhall meetings today in Bldg. 470 (the new Command Post building on Hangar Road) in Room 245 (upstairs) at 2 and 3:30 p.m. He will discuss the following procedures and answer questions: --The furlough, if it occurs, will be effective 12 AM, Eastern time April 9, which is 11 p.m. local time April 8 for Scott. In the event of a government shutdown: --All employees are to report to work on their first regularly scheduled duty day following furlough. --There will be up to four hours allowed for the orderly shut-down and for employees to receive furlough notices. When civilian employees are recalled: --Once a continuing resolution or appropriation has been approved, employees will report to work or request leave IAW leave procedures. --If notification is during duty hours, employees are expected to report immediately. If notification is during non-duty hours, employees will report at the start of your next regular duty day. --The duration of the furlough will not be known. Therefore, it is each employee's responsibility to listen to public broadcasts and to keep abreast of the latest news regarding the budgetary status of the United States.
