Team Scott organizations will open their doors to Scott residents, workers, and their families (ID card holders) to educate them about the many different missions at Scott AFB during the base's first ever Homecoming Week.

Homecoming Week, which is June 6-10, was designated by the 375th Air Mobility Wing commander, Col. Michael Hornitschek, as a way to foster "inside the wire" relationships.
"I am in a unique position as one of the few who gets to see all of the amazing things
that occur on Scott AFB," said the commander. "It's impressive, and I desire that more people have the opportunity to see these amazing things. Have you asked yourself 'What goes on in there?' as you drive by a particular building? This week is a way in which our folks will open their doors to each other, and at the same time, create a stronger base community network that can provide the best care for our military members and their families."

More than a dozen organizations on base will open their doors June 6-8 for tours and demonstrations. Participating units are listed below and a full schedule of events will be available shortly as details become solidified.

The base is sponsoring a wing training day on June 9 and then June 10 is the annual family picnic hosted by the 375th Force Support Squadron. The very next day, June 11, the city of O'Fallon will also host its annual "Salute to Scott" picnic at the O'Fallon park where Team Scott families are honored for their service to the nation.

"It promises to be an exciting and event-filled week! I'll see you out there!" said Colonel Hornitschek.
