BASE CELEBRATES HOMECOMING WEEK JUN 6-10
Team Scott organizations will open their doors to Scott residents, workers, and their families (ID card holders) to educate them about the many different missions at Scott AFB during the base's first ever Homecoming Week. SUMMER CONCERT SERIES - 5 JUN
The Air Force Band of Mid-America will launch its summer concert series this Sunday at 6 p.m. at the parade field. The concerts are open to all DoD card holders and their guests.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SCOTT SUMMER PICNIC - 9-10 JUN
Event organizers need volunteers for a variety of duties for the Scott Summer Picnic. Duties include set up on Thursday, 9 Jun, and event execution and tear down on Friday, 10 Jun. To volunteer, call Lisa Frankson at 256-5939 or SrA Charles Booker at 256-3437.

SCOTT SUMMER PICNIC - 10 JUN
Make plans to attend the FREE Scott Summer Picnic scheduled for Friday, 10 June, 1100 to 1500 near the ALS Pavilion Area. Enjoy free food (pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken and more), soft drinks, entertainment (93.7 the Bull, Radio Disney Dance Team, etc.) and family games & inflatables. While you're there, check out the cool car display, Arts & Crafts demos and more. All Scott AFB personnel and their families are invited to attend. Don't miss out on the largest event of 2011. ROAD CONDITIONS FOR 126TH ARW EXERCISE - 7-10 JUN
The 126th Air Refueling Wing will be participating in a Nuclear Operational Readiness Inspection and Operational Readiness Inspection from 7-12 June. During these inspections, alert crews and security personnel will be responding at potentially high rates of speed. If possible, please avoid the intersection at Golf Course Road and Pryor Drive and the areas around 126 ARW facilities during the exercise timeframe. Anyone who must travel through these areas should exercise extreme caution and yield the right-of-way to all responding vehicles, which may be marked with flashing yellow lights and placards.

TOWN HALL FOR PARENTS - 9 JUN
A town hall meeting for parents is at 5:30 p.m. June 9 at the base theater where guest speakers from the Mascoutah, O'Fallon and Belleville Police Departments will share their knowledge about local drug trends that they are seeing in high schools. Any questions? Call 256-8650.

ALS COMMANDANT POSITION - APPLICATION DEADLINE 9 JUN
The CMSAF Bud Andrews Airman Leadership School is looking for an energetic, ultra-sharp, self-motivated, MSgt or MSgt(s) to lead one of the most successful Airman Leadership Schools in the Air Force. DINING FACILITY OPEN
The Nightingale Inn Dining Facility and Grab-N-Go has completed infrastructure repairs and has reopened. Airmen with meal cards will see a deduction in Basic Allowance for Subsistence in their 15 Jun base pay. If you have any questions, please contact Finance Customer Service at 256-1851.

ENERGY TIP OF THE WEEK
Energy-efficient light bulbs last about 12X longer than ordinary bulbs and consume 1/5 of the energy. Also, the next energy conversation with the 375th AMW commander is today at 1600 in the wing conference room. All are invited to attend.

PERSONNEL NEEDING SUPPLY TRAINING?
Block I, Base Supply Orientation, will be held on Wed, 8 June, and Wed, 22 June, for all new unit supply, bench stock, and repair cycle managers. Classes are held at Bldg 4001, LRS Conference Room, from 0800-1000. E-mail requests for training to LRS Base Supply Customer Support, 375LRS/LGRMCC@us.af.mil.

Block III, Equipment Custodian Local Procedures, will be held on Wed, 15 June and Wed, 20 July. Classes are held at Bldg 4001, LRS Conference Room from 0800-1100. All new supply equipment custodians are required to attend one of these classes. Email requests for training to LRS Equipment Accountability Office, 375LRS/LGRMCE@us.af.mil.

BASE SUPPLY CUSTOMERS
Organizations can acquire items free of charge from the DLA Disposition Services-Scott with just a little paperwork by a unit equipment custodian or other authorized personnel. Contact DLA Disposition Services-Scott office at 256-4168/4169, or LRS Base Supply Customer Support Element, at 256-5945.

ASK A FIRST SERGEANT
The Scott AFB First Sergeants have created an e-mail address for anyone to e-mail the First Sergeants to ask a question, and it can be anonymous. You can either email from your e-mail client "Ask A Scott First Sergeant," ask.scottfirstsgt@us.af.mil. It's in the Global Address List. To e-mail anonymously, go to www.scott.af.mil, at the bottom there is a "Contact Us" page link. Go to the page and fill out the form. Use the down box to select "Ask a First Sergeant." You can leave the e-mail address bar blank and it will email with no return address info.

GIANT YARD SALE - 4 JUN
Scott Air Force base will host its first annual giant yard sale in all housing areas June 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Due to force protection measures this will not be open to the public as long as the base remains in FPCON Bravo. In FPCON Bravo only those personnel with normal, official, or sponsored base access will be permitted to participate, access will be through normal base gates. To date there are more than 40 participants. Yard sale maps will be available at the Patriot's Landing Community Center, and at the various base entry gates.

SCUBA DIVING TRIP - 4 JUN
Join Outdoor Recreation on a Scuba Diving Adventure at Mermet Springs on Saturday, 4 June. Cost is $48/person, which includes transportation, equipment, gear and instruction. One on one instruction from a dive master will be given for approximately 30 minutes. Buses will depart at 0800, returning around 1700. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The NCO Council is sponsoring a car wash this Sat to raise funds for all the events the group sponsors throughout the year at the Taco Bell/1403 W US Highway 50 O'Fallon, IL 62269 (618) 628-1011 (across from the WalMart) 9am-5pm. RUNNING CLINIC - 6 JUNE-14 JULY
This 6-week progressive training program will help you improve your 1.5 mile run time by increasing running endurance and building speed. SALUTE TO SCOTT PICNIC - 11 JUN
On June 11, the city of O'Fallon, the village of Shiloh and the O'Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee will also host its 17th annual "Salute to Scott" picnic at the O'Fallon Park where Team Scott families are honored for their service to the nation. A number of family activities are planned to include a visit by Radio Disney, and the making and eating of the area's largest banana split!

AIR FORCE BALL FUNDRAISING EFFORT - 11 JUNE
The World Shooting Complex hosts the Scholastic National Championship in Sparta, Illinois 11 JUNE 2011, 15-16 JUNE 2011 and YOUR Air Force Ball needs you to volunteer! We are asking for 100 volunteers each of three days. Carpool available, details to come and events run from 0800-1700. Bring friends and family to make the fundraising successful. AFNIC GOLF TOURNEY - 15 JUN
The annual AFNIC Golf Tournament will be held on Wednesday, 15 June 2011 at the Locust Hills Golf Course in Lebanon. It's open to the first 132 players. The price is $55 per person with the option to purchase team mulligans (2 per player) and string for an additional $10. Each team/player can prepay ahead of time or pay day-of at the course, see your rep for payment. Proceeds will go to the AFNIC booster club. SCOTT FIRST SERGEANTS GROUP - ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT - 16 JUN
Mark your calendars! The Scott First Sergeants Group will hold its annual golf tournament on Thursday, 16 June. Check-in and lunch begins at 1100, with a shotgun start at 1230 pm. The proceeds from this tournament directly support base recognition programs to ensure enlisted members from all the services are recognized for their outstanding performance and dedication. Additionally, funds received support "Operation Warmheart", which is managed by the First Sergeants to ensure enlisted members are provided for year round. TOP 3 SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE - NOW through 17 JUN
The Scott Top 3 will host the "Nadezhda Orphanage School Supply Drive" 20 May - 17 Jun. The Nadezhda Orphanage is supported by several Team Scott deployed members at Manas AB Kyrgyzstan. The facility supports about 70 mentally and physically handicapped orphans who are in great need of school supplies. Items Needed: notebooks, art paper (specifically A3 paper requested by 1st grade), pencils, pencil sharpeners, kid style backpacks, pocket folders, pencil crayons, erasers, rounded tip scissors, pencil cases, rulers, geometry set (for the teenage kids), staplers, multi-colored construction paper of various sizes, easels. Donation boxes will be located throughout Scott AFB, please contact your squadron POC or SMSgt Rix at 256-2599 for more information.

"FLYING HIGH 5K" TO SUPPORT THE AIR FORCE BALL - 24 JUN
A 5K run will be held at 1900 on 24 June 2011 starting at the SWIC parking lot near the East Belleville YMCA. If you are unable to run or race, please sign up to volunteer! We need 15 water/trash pickup persons, five course monitors, six timekeepers and details will be provided on the Air Force Ball EIM web page. Deadline to enter for T-shirts ($5 additional) is June 15. Registration deadline is 22 June and cost $10. Race-day entry permitted for an additional $5 per person ($15 cost).
