On Sept. 11, Team Scott will honor the memories of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

"The two part event will provide a point of reflection for our community and inspire us as we work to protect the very freedom that was attacked that day," said Capt. Kyle Mattie, co-chairman of the Team Scott 9/11 Observation Committee.

The event, which is open to all of Team Scott and their families, will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Parade Field with "A Run/Walk to Remember."

Senior Master Sgt. Shannon Rix, co-chairman of the committee, said, "During the run, a piece of the World Trade Center will be carried by members of the U.S. Armed Forces to its final resting place in front of the 375th Air Mobility Wing headquarters."

The formal ceremony will start at 4:30 p.m. and will conclude with the acceptance of the World Trade Center artifact by Col. Michael Hornitschek, 375th AMW commander.
