Scott AFB supports Hurricane Irene Published Aug. 27, 2011 By 375th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Scott Air Force Base received aircraft from more than 20 aircraft from various East Coast locations today and will receive a few more early tomorrow as a result of Hurricane Irene bearing down on military bases there. So far, Scott AFB has received: --Eight F-15Cs and 26 support personnel from the 125th Fighter Wing stationed at Jacksonville Air National Guard, Fla. --Four FA-18s from the VFA 136, STRIKE Fighter Wing Atlantic, stationed at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, Va. --Two C-40's and two C-38s from the 201st Airlift Squadron, stationed at Andrews AFB Md. --Five C-21s from the 457th Airlift Squadron also from Andrews AFB, Md. Scott AFB is also poised with medical personnel and aircrew members flying the C-21 aircraft who are ready to respond in support of the hurricane's aftermath if needed.
