The 375th Air Mobility Wing will conduct its first Operational Readiness Exercise of 2012 Feb. 21-24. The wing will be creating a simulated forward deployed base by using the 375 Logistics Readiness Squadron compound, warehouse district and Hangar 3 area.

Airmen will be mobilized and then travel to a simulated remote area of responsibility. Once Airmen arrive in the AOR their survival and operational skills, along with attitude in their performance, will be tested.

The main objective of this ORE, one of several planned in preparation for the June 2013 Operational Readiness Inspection, is to train the reception and employment phases of the wing's wartime deployment mission. The wing will also be evaluated on its ability to operate and carry out the mission both here and in a deployed environment.

To ensure everyone is prepared here is some information Airman should be reminded:

· Make sure mobility and C-1 bags are fully equipped;

· Airman's manuals in hands reach;

· Wear "blue" reflector belts at all times;

· Know Ability to Survive and Operate skills;

· Use proper Command and Control procedures;

· Ensure accountability of your people--have a current recall roster; and

· Remember that safety and attitude will be graded. It may be cold so wear extra layers of clothing and pay attention to surroundings.

Although an exercise will be taking place next week, customers and other base personnel with a need to conduct normal business in the areas will be allowed to do so.
