Team Scott and Outdoor Recreation opened its Fitness Center pool on May 26 during Memorial Day weekend.

"Our goal for this year is to offer a fun filled aquatics season with free daily admission for the Scott community," said Douglas Hartung, 375th Force Support Squadron outdoor recreation director.

Adult lap swim is Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., recreational swim extended hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., swim lessons are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and pool parties are Monday through Friday 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. or Saturday and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.

"We will be offering many different programs at the pool to include base swim team, youth day camp swimming, swim lessons, military training, and special programs such as private and themed pool parties," said Hartung.

To start the summer pool season Outdoor Recreation is hosting a beach pool party at the Fitness Center pool on June 1 from 7-9 p.m. There will be games such as soda drop, inter-tube races, hula hoop contest and more.

The Scott Sharks, a swim team open to ages 5-18, will begin practice May 31. They will compete against other local area teams on Tuesday and Thursday nights in June.

Lessons will be held for all ages with the first session starting June 12. Swimmers will be evaluated at the first lesson and placed in the proper lesson level.

Outdoor Recreation is proud to be able to bring back past programs, and is already planning future events for the summer.

"We are excited that we still have the opportunity to offer the Aquatics program to Team Scott this year," said Hartung.
