CFC kickoff event set for Sept. 19 Published Sept. 12, 2012 By 375th Air Mobility SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The Combined Federal Campaign is set to kick off at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. September 19 with a big, fun, educational but informal event on the parade field from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year's theme is "Give a Little, Help a Lot!" Hundreds of charity representatives will be available to discuss their programs with base employees. To make it even more engaging, the CFC is pre-selling a lunch package. You can order a world-famous Amighetti's sub sandwich, chips, cookies, and beverage all for $6. An easy and efficient for you to order and pay for your lunches on line is at http://www.gatewaycfc.org/_root/index.php?content_id=5165 Details about sandwich options are there. Lunches must be ordered in advance; you can pay using a credit or debit card, or PayPal. While the deadline for lunch sales is Sept 14 please order ASAP so the CFC office knows that the web site tool is accepted by the Scott AFB community. Please share this information with your co-workers, and plan to come out, have fun and learn about the wonderful, wide range of charities that you can consider supporting through the CFC. You do not need to buy a lunch to visit the charities at the event. This is not a fundraiser, it is a fun way to build awareness of the CFC. In case of inclement weather, this Kickoff will move to Hangar 1. Major Paul B. Strom of Air Mobility Command Headquarters is serving as the Vanguard Division Chair, that is Scott AFB, on the Gateway CFC Leadership Committee. His Vice Chair is Captain David Prestwich, of the 618th Tanker Airlift Control Center. Mr. Nicholas Weizman, of the National Association of Government Employees, Local R7-23 is the Labor Chair for the CFC from base.
