The Air Mobility Command Cyber Technology Training Center closed Wednesday, so now all cyber-related training for Scott AFB will fall under the 375th Communication Squadron.

The AMC staff taught people how to use 14 AMC knowledge operation tools, but now will cover only Sharepoint, Air Force Portal, DCO, and the Task Management Tool.

Staff Sgt. David Yu, CTTC instructor, said, "Currently at every wing across AMC, the communication squadrons perform all the IT base level training. At Scott, Headquarters AMC has been performing this role."

During the transition, AMC staff will provide in-depth training and curriculums for the new course instructors.

"Our team has been like a well-oiled machine, so it wasn't a rough process to begin with," he said. "They are inheriting a great process that we created. We will still be around if they have any questions at any time."

The new instructors for the courses will be smart, young and energetic Airmen, said Master Sgt. Mary Belt, 375th Communication Squadron Knowledge Operations Center section chief. Innovation and initiative is the key to being a successful trainer she added.

Tech. Sgt. Maylene Little, CTTC NCOIC, said, "We are currently training the new instructors on the courses they will be teaching. I am very confident that they will exceed expectations."

The courses won't begin until the instructors are fully trained and comfortable with the material. Belt said that more of the original courses the center taught could be added to the new curriculum as the trainers get more comfortable.

"I sense it won't be too long before they completely grasp the material," she said. "They won't fail. I have 100 percent confidence in my team."

The schedule and location of the classes has not yet been determined.

Senior Master Sgt. Aldo Adams, AMC A6 Command Force Development superintendent, said, "This is a win-win situation. The wing will take on the base level IT training mission, aligning with rest of AMC communication squadrons and AMC A6 will continue to focus on developing standardized training."
