Kyle Kremer, during a change of command ceremony June 14. During the ceremony, the presiding officer, Lt. Gen. Darren McDew, 18th Air Force commander, accepted the guidon from Col. David Almand as he relinquished command and passed it to Kremer, marking the beginning of his command of the 375th AMW. Kremer arrived from McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., where he served as vice commander for the 22nd Air Refueling Wing. During the ceremony, McDew complimented Almand on his continued success even through the worst flood in the last 25 years and said Scott will be losing a valuable asset and a great leader. Almand then addressed everyone with his final speech as the 375th AMW commander. "Thank you for your trust and allowing me to assume the sacred and extreme responsibility of command," he said. "It was a great honor to work for you. Commanding this wing has been an affirmation of faith and hope." After thanking Team Scott, his family and friends for the continued support, Almand stepped down from the podium to be relieved of command. In his first speech as the 375th AMW commander, Kremer thanked the former commander for his leadership. "Col. Almand has set the bar very high," Kremer said. "Family is important to us. We are very proud and happy to consider you as a part of our extended family. That's really the way we view it. Team Scott is our priority. We will continue to build upon the tremendous success that Col. Almand has set for us." He then thanked his wife, Debra, children, Mikayla and Abbey, and the leadership of Scott. "It is our privilege to serve with you, and I promise to give you all my best," he said.
