The non-profit organization's mission is to support, inform and educate Team Scott members and families of all branches of the military, including civil service. "Through friendship and fostering our philanthropic efforts, we contribute to selected charities, local schools and provide scholarships for Team Scott spouses and graduating dependent seniors," said Alice Howe, Scott Spouses Club recording secretary. Members of both clubs started meeting in February and voted on the merger in April. Howe said, "Our clubs have had the same goals over the years, and with the merger, we will be a more modern version of the traditional past of both." The club plans to keep the same goals for the future of raising money to donate to the base and local community. Deb Arquiette, Scott Spouses Club interim president, said, "With the combined club we look to get more people involved in creating camaraderie with Scott members and the local community." The Scott Spouses Club meetings are held September through May on the second Wednesday of each month. For more information go to www.scottspousesclub.com or contact welcoming@scottosc.com.
