John Poole, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander, said it was an opportunity to have voices heard and to address some hard-hitting questions while building a closer bond across the AE teams. The key talking points of this event included deployment restructuring and training advancements and capabilities. The deliberate engagement of these topics was also a result of higher headquarters focus areas about developing relevant guidance and allocating resources across the various wings. These discussions were briefed throughout the two-day event by respective subject matter experts and followed by an open Q&A. By having this face-to-face discussion forum, the WSC fostered two-way communication between the AMC staff and the WSC itself. Scott AFB was selected as the host for the first WSC meeting because the base works as a hub for many major commands and oversees the training school for AE. The WSC plans to reconvene in October to follow-up on changes that have been implemented and discuss further areas of improvement.
