SSGT RELEASE PARTY - TODAY
The Scott AFB NCO Council will be hosting the Staff Sergeant Release Party today at 1500 at the Scott Club. The selectees and their families or immediate guests must be in place by 1500 all other guests may join them at 1600. The price is $10 per stripe ($40) per selectee and the money goes to pay for food and drinks. All paid selectees will also receive a 1-year membership for the NCO Council. LEGAL - LIMITED SERVICES
Due to mission readiness exercises, the legal office will not provide legal assistance or will services 10 - 11 Aug and 25 Aug. The front desk will still provide notaries, specific and general powers of attorney on these days during normal business hours.

BLOOD DRIVE - 9 AUG
Reminder, American Red Cross Blood Drive will be Tuesday, Aug 9, at Rockwell Hall (Bldg 1930) from 0800 -1700. The Red Cross is suffering a blood shortage. Let's make this the Biggest Blood Drive for the summer! Free food & refreshments will be provided for donors/volunteers. While they last, Free Gift Cards will be available as well. ENERGY TIP OF THE WEEK
Washing clothes at 140F uses almost twice as much energy as a 104F wash. Also, the next energy conversation with the 375th AMW commander is today in the 375th Wing Conference Room from 4 to 6 p.m. All are invited to attend.

FEDS FEED FAMILIES CAMPAIGN 1 - 31 AUG

We have just about one month left in this year's FEDS FEED FAMILIES campaign. Reaching the DoD's goal of 733,800 lbs of food collected DoD-wide requires assistance and your support. To do our part, we will need to average 1 lb per person assigned. There are POC's in every Group and Squadron within the 375 AMW. All food collected will be weighed and delivered to the Belleville Inter-Faith food pantry where they support 500 families a month, including members from Scott AFB. For questions regarding the food drive, or if you wish to volunteer, please contact MSgt Collin Baulch at collin.baulch@us.af.mil

PASSENGER TERMINAL RELOCATION
As a reminder, the Scott AFB Passenger Terminal is undergoing extensive remodeling. In an effort to provide continued and excellent customer service, all terminal operations have relocated to the O'Fallon dormitory, Bldg. 1810, 460 West Winters street, Scott, SAFB. Winggate (Commercial Travel Office) and Passenger Travel, have been relocated to building P-10 and are now collocated within the 375th LRS,

Transportation Management Office, room D103 during the renovation. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The expected renovation completion time is February 2012. If there are any questions, please call the Passenger Terminal at 256-3017, Winggate Travel at 256-5397, or Passenger Travel at 256-5785. We thank you for your patience as we make these necessary improvements to the Scott AFB Passenger Terminal.

CAIB
375 AMW/CC invites leaders from across Scott AFB (tenant units, this includes you) to attend the Community Action Information Board, CAIB, meeting 31 Aug, 1315, 375 AMW Conference Room. The CAIB is a cross-functional forum addressing quality of life, personal readiness, and community issues. 9/11 CEREMONY MEETING - 11 AUG
Team Scott will be conducting a 9/11 Observation Ceremony and as such is forming a committee to execute the plan. We welcome everyone to participate. The next Team Scott 9/11 Observation Ceremony Planning Committee meeting is Thursday, 11 Aug/1330-1430, 375 OG Conference Room. ROAD CONSTRUCTION - 11 AUG THROUGH 10 OCT
Please note that there will be construction from Maple Street to Main Street in Shiloh at IL Route 158, beginning 11 Aug, and ending 10 Oct, in order to resurface the existing roadway. Due to the restricted lane widths along this stretch of roadway, there may be times that the roadway will be closed to all but local traffic. As a result of these possible closures, this department would suggest finding alternative routes to and from Scott Air Force Base during this time period. We apologize for any inconveniences and appreciate your understanding in this matter. For questions, call St. Clair County at 233-1392.

ARMED FORCES CLASSIFICATION TEST (ASAVAB Equivalent) - 16, 30 AUG AND 15 SEP
Due to additional demand as a result of AF Special Duty Screening Team Visit and other AF retraining initiatives, the Base Testing Office has added two additional AFCT testing dates. All AFCT exams begin sharply at 0800. Call Base Testing at 256-5290/6364 for more info.

JAMES GYM TRACK RE-SURFACING PROJECT EXTENDED
The James Gym track re-surfacing project has been extended and is scheduled to re-open 1 Oct. The cardio component of the fitness assessment test will continue to take place on the running trail (along Golf Course Rd) behind the Honor Guard building #386. All testers should continue to report to the James Sports Center Conference Room during this time. They will be briefed on procedures to be taken for the run portion. All official testers will be in numbered jerseys and we ask that they are given the right of way while on the running trail. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. GOLF 4 KIDS - BEGINS 4 AUG

The Golf 4 Kids life skills experience is a curriculum for teaching character education and life skills through the game of golf. Back by popular demand, the 2011 program will run every Tuesday and Thursday, 4 Aug through 25 Aug for children ages 7-16. Age groups are as follows: 7- 9 (0900-0955), 10-12 (1000-1055) and 13-16 (1100-1155). Cost is $75 and includes seven lessons, clubs (if needed), range ball plus much more. Registration will take place in the Pro Shop at the Cardinal Creek Golf Course. The POC for this clinic is Terence C. Williams and he can be reached by calling 744-1400 (Pro Shop) or 531-8555 (cell).

BOAT REGATTA - 5 AUG
Ahoy, Matey! Outdoor Recreation is having their Great Cardboard Boat Regatta on Friday, 5 Aug from 1100 to 1300 at the Fitness Center Pool. Come out and watch squadrons/organizations/groups compete for CASH PRIZES (FSS Bucks)! Cash prizes of $300, $200 and $100 will be awarded to the top 3 boats with the Fastest Teams. A cash prize (FSS Bucks) of $25 will also be awarded in the following categories: Best Design, Most Creative Design, Best Dressed Team, Sour Lemon, and The Unsinkable Molly Brown! BOWLER APPRECIATION DAY - 6 AUG

SUPERINTENDENT'S REVENGE TOURNAMENT - 6 AUG
Cardinal Creek Golf Course has scheduled their annual Superintendent's Revenge Tournament for Saturday, 6 Aug with a 0800 shotgun start. This tournament is a four person scramble. Pins and tee markers will be set up in tough spots! Entry fee is $45 per person, $30 per Annual Fee Payer & $20 per Eagle Annual Fee Payer. ADULT/YOUTH BASE-WIDE SWIM MEET - 6 AUG
Outdoor Recreation and the Fitness Center will be hosting a Base-Wide Swim Meet on Saturday, 6 Aug at the Fitness Center Pool. The meet will begin at 0900, with warm-ups beginning at 0830. This swim meet is a free event and each swimmer may participate in up to 5 individual events and one relay. Age groups for this event will be 10 & under, 11-12 yrs old, 13-14 yrs old, Adults 15-35 yrs old and Seniors over 35, plus relays. All ages will be as of the day of the meet. Entry forms are available at Outdoor Recreation, Bldg. 3176 or the Fitness Center, Bldg. P6. Deck entries will be taken until 0830 the same morning. AMC ICON PERFORMANCE - 12 AUG
The AMC Icon Base Level Competition will be held at the Scott Club 12 Aug at 1900. Everyone is invited to watch the contestants compete. Entry is free! Doors will open at 1630, with light hors d'oeuvres being served until 1830. Anyone wishing to partake in our fabulous hors d'oeuvres can do so for a small fee; club members are free, non-members - $10, and children 12 and under are just $5. Anyone, age 21 & older, is invited to join us after the competition for our ALL-NIGHTER! Enjoy a live DJ and drink specials.

The Active Duty SAFB Winner will compete against other AMC Base finalists at the Command Finals in October here. Our annual Special Activities sign-up coffee is coming up August 31st, and now is the time to volunteer to be the POC for a great activity. We are now open and located at bldg 700, phone number is 744-9441. Our hours are Tuesday - Friday, 1st Saturday 10-2 for sales and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 1st Saturday 10-12 for consignments. Military in uniform until 1230. We have a variety of items...dishes, toys, books, DVD's, musical instruments, clothes and furniture. Anyone with an active duty, retired, reservist or dependent ID may consign and write checks to purchase items. Anyone with base access may pay with cash.
