Safety Matters
UV Safety Awareness Month occurs in July but should be a thought process during all the sunny and hot months of the year. The campaign has been promoted by many organizations, to include the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The month is a reminder of the connection between ultraviolet (UV) light and cancers of the skin, eye and lip, and to educate people about effective natural sunlight and UV protection.
