Gas 'n Go Growlers

Members of the 375th Operations Support Squadron hot-pit refuel a Navy EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft on Scott Air Force Base, Aug. 3, 2018. Hot-pitting is the practice of refueling an aircraft with the engines still running. To provide more support to transiting aircraft, the 375th OSS has been working to become qualified to hot-pit more airframes. This was the first time the unit had ever hot-pitted the EA-18G. The EA-18G Growler is the fourth major variant of the F/A-18 family of aircraft that combines the F/A-18F Super Hornet platform with a sophisticated electronic warfare suite. Built to replace the EA-6B Prowler, the Growler is the first newly-designed electronic warfare aircraft produced in more than 35 years.(U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Master Sgt. Jeremy Henderson)
