New leadership at 375th Aerospace Medicine Squadron
Senior Airmen Emily Yaronczyk, 375th Aerospace Medicine Squadron bioenvironmental engineering journeyman, shows Lt. Col. James Coker, 375th AMDS commander how to use the HAPSITE Chemical Identification System, which is a field-portable gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer. The GC/MS is designed for on-scene detection, identification and quantification of toxic industrial chemicals and chemical warfare agents. It is the benchmark for positive identification of organic chemicals with the highest degree of accuracy of any available analytical technique. With the HAPSITE Chemical Identification System, users get the confirmatory results within minutes that are necessary to make critical decisions affecting life, health, safety and the mission.
