SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- During an aeromedical evacuation mission, nurses and crew members of the transporting aircraft are required to evaluate the profiles and medical records of the patients before signing them over to the receiving unit. The process is performed very quickly because it has to be completed prior to moving any patients and as a result, any delays can severely disrupt the flight schedule as well as treatment of the patients.
