Student shares card of thanks signed by 500 high school students

Mackenzie McIntyre, a senior at O'Fallon Township High School, presented Col. Michael Hornitschek, 375th Air Mobility Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Candler, 375th AMW command chief, with a card of thanks Sept. 9, 2011 signed by more than 500 students from OTHS. Mackenzie, the daughter of Lt. Col. Jim and Angie McIntyre, 618th Air and Space Operations Center (TACC), said she came up with the idea after watching a documentary about Sept. 11, and in four days designed the card, got approvals from school officials and got signatures in time to present it before the 10th Anniversary of 9/11.
