Col. Christopher G. Seaman is the Commander, 375th Operations Group, 375th Air Mobility Wing, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He leads a group of 524 military, civilian, and contract personnel in six squadrons and one detachment dispersed across three different locations within the U.S. The primary missions of the group are to provide aeromedical evacuation training and support, executive air transportation, flight inspection, evaluation of new aviation technologies, and air refueling of critical DoD assets. The group's Total Force Integration squadrons conduct VIP/SAM airlift with four Air Force Reserve owned C-40C aircraft and air refueling with nine Illinois Air National Guard owned KC-135R aircraft. The group also provides operational support airlift to priority passengers across the government with its 14 C-21A aircraft. It is responsible for the delivery of worldwide combatant commander contingency flight inspection operating jointly with the Federal Aviation Administration. Finally, the group has responsibility for all airfield operations and management, including air traffic control of the joint-use Scott AFB/MidAmerica Airport supporting three disparate flying wings.
Col. Seaman received his commission as a graduate from the United States Air Force Academy in 2001. After serving as an Instructor in the C-5B at Travis AFB, he transitioned to Special Operations where he flew a variety of aircraft in support of overseas contingency operations before transitioning to the C-21 in 2017. Col Seaman is a joint qualified officer having completed staff tours at HQ US Special Operations Command, US Transportation Command, Joint Special Operations Command, and commanded the 375 OSS at Scott AFB. He is a distinguished graduate of Air Command and Staff College and a graduate of the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies and the US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA.
