2/3/2011 - SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill.  -- Six years ago, the Base Education Planning and Advisory Committee was founded to better serve Education Center customers.

Since then, the Education Center has come a long way thanks to improvements such as enhancing the classroom environment, getting wireless internet and Scott becoming a National Test Center.

"The BEPAC and its working groups are established to provide a forum for members to address common concerns, identify quality improvements and create new initiatives," said Michelle Marinelli, 375th Force Support Squadron Education Center Alternate Test Control officer.

The BEPAC's first meeting of 2011 was held Jan. 26 where they discussed plans for the upcoming year.

BEPAC's goals for the Education Center this year are to implement and evaluate customer service training efforts, review and improve the main customer service telephone system, explore options for online customer surveys and communication, and explore improvements to community of practice content.

The committee would also like to add additional art and pictures to classrooms.
"The most important part of BEPAC to me is the partnerships and ideas that are developed between base leadership, the Education Office, on-base colleges and professional organizations represented," said Mrs. Marinelli.

The committee meets quarterly and is composed of members from the Education Center, personnel from the schools represented on base, 375th Force Support Squadron leadership, the base librarian, members of base agencies and representatives from off-base colleges who executed a memorandum of agreement.
The committee discussed upcoming events and information in the Education center.
