Hennessy Eval Team Published Nov. 22, 2005 By Airman Brian Butkus 375th Airlift Wing Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- The Nightingale Inn will be under the microscope once again when the Hennessy evaluation team arrives Wednesday to evaluate their aspects of food service. The evaluation will begin with an in brief today and continue through Friday. The Hennessy Evaluation team consists of two services officers from Air Mobility Command and one enlisted staff member from Fairchild Air Force Base. The team will be evaluating the Nightingale Inn’s kitchen operations, serving and dining operations, training, personnel and readiness, sanitation and repair maintenance and management. “This competition allows us to train our people and serve our customers at the highest level possible,” said Mr. Randy Rose, Nightingale Inn dining facility manager. “The Hennessy competition is based on a self inspection check list used to grade our performance and indicate what areas we can improve upon.” This evaluation is the first step in determining a Hennessy award winner. In this area of inspection each MAJCOM sends a team to their bases looking for the best of the best to represent them at the Air Force Awards competition in February In the past ten years, the Nightingale Inn has won the AMC level award six times and the Air Force level award two times. “This is the 50th Anniversary of the Air Force Hennessy program and John Hennessy would have been proud to see the results of his program and the progress of Air Force Food Service over the years,” said Mr. Rose.
