The 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron loaded 33 thousand pounds of firefighting equipment and clothing, and emergency response medical supplies that are to be donated to 40 Guatemalan fire departments, Tuesday, Dec. 12.

The donations were received from Aid for Medicine Education and Disasters in Central America (AMEDICAusa), a charity organization focused on creating opportunities for the poor and indigenous people of Guatemala. Part of what AMEDICAusa does is help collect used or outdated fire, rescue and EMS supplies to be used as front-line equipment for Guatemalan emergency services and their 18.2 million citizens.

Along with protective equipment and firefighting gear sourced from local fire departments, AMEDICAusa will also provide hands-on training to the fire departments for more technical equipment.
