CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT DAVID R. MARCHANT

Chief Master Sergeant David R. Marchant is the Group Superintendent for the 375th Medical Group, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He is the principle advisor to the commander on matters concerning welfare, effective use, training, career progression and organizational performance of 312 enlisted personnel. He is the enlisted leader to over 600 members of the medical group operating under a $34M budget. Comprised of four squadrons, the group is responsible for all medical and dental care provided at Scott AFB in support of over 26K enrolled TRICARE Prime beneficiaries and 60K local beneficiaries. The group supports an AF-Civilian integrated Family Practice Residency, General Dentistry Residency and a medical laboratory phase II training program. The group also provides medical support to many tenant organizations, including Air Mobility Command, US Transportation Command and 18th Air Force Headquarters.

Chief Marchant entered the Air Force in January of 1986. His background includes positions as a Squadron Superintendent, 4A0X1 Functional Manager, AFSO21 Wing Superintendent, Exercise Evaluation Team Chief, CENTAF/SG Liaison for Air Force Medics in Iraq filling Joint Expeditionary Taskings, and a Health Services Inspection Team Medical Inspector. He has served overseas tours in England and Japan and has also been stationed at bases in Nevada, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Utah and New Mexico. Chief Marchant deployed to Saudi Arabia in 1990 in support of Operations DESERT SHIELD/STORM, to Panama in 1994 in the humanitarian mission Operation SAFE HAVEN, and to Balad Air Force Base, Iraq in 2007 in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

Chief Marchant was born and raised in Kansas City where he graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1982. He is married to the former Susan Kraft from Greeley, Colorado, and together they have two wonderful boys, Christopher, 14 and Derek, 9.
