SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Col. John O. Howard will assume command of the 375th Air Mobility Wing from Col. Laura Lenderman during a change of command ceremony at 9 a.m. July 24 at the Scott AFB Parade Field.

In case of inclement weather, it will be moved to Hangar 1.

Howard arrives with his wife, Dana, and son, Kevin, from Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, where he served as the vice commander for the 100th Air Refueling Wing.

Lenderman, who has served as the 375th AMW commander for the past two years, will be moving on to United States Transportation Command.

Howard is a 1994 graduate of Tufts University and has served in a variety of joint and operational flying positions. He served as the Aide-de-Camp to the commander of U.S. Pacific Command and the commander of U.S. Central Command, commanded the 572nd Global Mobility Squadron at Travis AFB, Calif., and was selected as an Air Force National Security Studies Fellow to Stanford University.
