GALESBURG, IL. — Members from the 375th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight attended a post office naming ceremony to honor a fallen EOD member in Galesburg, Illinois, Sept. 7.

The stories told at the now “Senior Airman Daniel Miller Post Office”, described Miller as “always smiling” and “caring about everyone” while recalling him as a brother, son and Airman.

Senior Airman Daniel Miller Jr., who went to high school in Galesburg, was an EOD Airman stationed at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. While deployed to Iraq in 2007, Miller and two other members of Team Lima, were killed in action while attempting to diffuse a car bomb.

There is a promise made to all EOD members engraved in the EOD Warrior Foundation Memorial at Eglin Air Force Base – “We will remember them”. This memorial has all the names of EOD members killed in the line of duty.

Thanks to the city of Galesburd, everyone who comes to the post office and looks up the name “Senior Airman Daniel Miller Jr.” will continue to spread his legacy. Miller's name will forever be remembered, and so will his sacrifices.
